FILM EDUCATION

Introducing film and audiovisual content in compulsory education.

We seek proposals around the question of introducing film and audiovisual content in compulsory education. It is essential to discover the role schools play in fostering film literacy and the ways of entry of movies and audiovisual content in schools. We are also interested in initiatives that provide to young worldwide audiences a better knowledge of film heritage and arise their curiosity about their own audiovisual legacy. Finally, we would like to receive proposals that explore how the audiovisual sector awakens con- sciousness of the world´s cultures and express the world´s diversity, as a tool to develop intercultural skills.

MEDIA LITERACY AND SOCIAL INCLUSION

Media and education as a means to achieve social inclusion.

Milid Journal invites authors to present papers that contribute to find tools that use media and education for social inclusion goals. It welcomes initiatives that focus on developing teaching methodologies to improve the socially disadvantaged groups´ involvement in broadcasting, new technologies and adult education provision.

Concerning media literacy, disadvantaged are early school leavers, minorities of any kind of a given social structure, and adult population that falls out of the educational system and the job market and completely rely on the media as a source to create and convey “reality”.
